Just-In-Case Indemnity

MASA Assist will provide up to $1,000 USD directly to the member for eligible out-of-pocket expenses incurred when using Air Ambulance Transportation.(Limited to one reimbursement per consecutive 12-month period beginning from plan effective date.)

Minor Protection

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for eligible out-of-pocket expenses for Air Ambulance and Ground Ambulance for minors in the member’s care when more than 100 miles away from home, additional protections may apply. (Limited to two reimbursements per consecutive 12-month period beginning from plan effective date.)

Terminally Ill Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment to fly a member home should they receive a terminal illness diagnosis after an inpatient hospital stay more than 100 miles away from home.

Translation Services

MASA Assist will provide professional translation services via telephone when a member has experienced a serious emergency.

Emergency Message Relay Center

MASA Assist will provide access to Emergency Message Relay Center, where a member can easily relay emergency messages regarding their health and safety to anyone.

Air Ambulance Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for eligible flights to the nearest appropriate medical facility capable of providing needed treatment when the member requires specialized emergency treatment not available locally.

Ground Ambulance Transportation

MASA Assist will coordinate and provide payment for eligible ground ambulance transfers between hospitals and airports during a member’s emergency air transport.

Post Admission Continued Care Transportation

MASA Assist will reimburse eligible expenses up to $500 USD for a member’s trip to a rehabilitation center, skilled nursing center, long-term disability care facility, hospice, or the member’s residence. (Limited to one reimbursement per consecutive 12-month period beginning from plan effective date.)

Companion Air Ambulance Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for a companion to accompany the member during an eligible emergency air ambulance transport.

Companion Ground Ambulance Transportation

MASA Assist will reimburse eligible out-of-pocket expenses for a companion to accompany the member during a ground ambulance transport to the airport from the hospital and from the airport to the hospital.

Extended Hospital Stay Incidental Expense Protection

MASA Assist will reimburse the eligible expenses for incidentals incurred if a member is hospitalized over 100 miles from home for an extended period of 7 days or more (including hotels, food, transportation, and more). (Limited to two reimbursements per consecutive 12-month period beginning from plan effective date.)

Essential Medical Care Transportation

MASA Assist will reimburse eligible out-of-pocket expenses for a member’s round-trip commercial air transportation or ferry fare to receive medically necessary care not available locally. (Pre-approval by MASA required before use).

Patient Return Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for eligible flights home after a member has been hospitalized for inpatient care more than 100 miles away from home.

Companion Return Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for eligible flights home for a member’s companion after a member has been hospitalized for inpatient care more than 100 miles away from home.

Repatriation to Hospital Near Home Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for eligible transportation by air or ground for a member to return home for continued care and to recuperate in familiar surroundings when hospitalized more than 100 miles away from home.

Hospital Visitor Air Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for eligible air transportation for a person of the member’s choosing to visit if the member is hospitalized more than 100 miles away from home.

Minor Return Transportation

MASA Assist will provide informational support and reimburse the eligible expenses for the return of a minor (below the age of 18) to a parent, legal guardian, or a person who can be responsible for the minor if left unattended due to an ambulance transport.

Vehicle & RV Return

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for the return of a member's vehicle to their residence or car rental location if it is left unattended due to the member's emergency air or ground transport.

Pet Return Transportation

MASA Assist will provide informational support and reimburse the eligible expenses for the return of a pet(s) if left as a result of an ambulance transport.

Mortal Remains Return Transportation

MASA Assist will provide informational support and reimburse the eligible expenses incurred for the transportation of a member’s mortal remains back to their area of residence via air, ground, or ferry, in the event a member passes away while more than 100 miles away from home.

Organ Retrieval Transportation

MASA Assist will provide payment for the eligible out-of-pocket expenses associated with the transportation of an organ to be retrieved and used for a member’s organ transplant.

Organ Recipient Transportation

MASA Assist will help coordinate and provide payment for the eligible out-of-pocket expenses associated with the air transportation expenses for a member to fly to the airport nearest the medical facility for a scheduled organ transplant.

Worldwide Emergency Ground Ambulance Transportation

MASA Assist will reimburse a member up to $250 USD per year for any eligible emergency ground ambulance expenses, as long as MASA Assist is provided advance notice of trip plans. (Limited to one reimbursement per consecutive 12-month period beginning from plan effective date.)

Physician Search

MASA Assist will assist a member requiring medical care with locating a licensed physician.

Attorney Search

MASA Assist will assist a member requiring legal services with locating a licensed attorney.

Concierge Services

MASA Assist will help a member who has experienced a serious emergency while away from home with scheduling and purchasing commercial air or ground transportation, lost luggage retrieval, emergency visa acquisition, or other assistance needed to help the member return home.

First Year Satisfaction Guarantee

MASA Assist will reimburse a member's first year of coverage if they are dissatisfied with the services provided.
